BRENT MCCOMBS, ALTEREGO PHOTOGRAPHY
Born near Niagara Falls, Ontario and trained in Los Angeles, Brent has been an international fashion photographer for the past 15 years. During that time, he has shot editorial campaigns for clients in London, Paris, New York, Vancouver and New Delhi. In September 2015 he got married to a lovely Halifax gal, and as such, is cutting down his international travel for fashion shoots, and has embarked on a transition to shooting weddings and portraiture.
Brent has had the opportunity to shoot in more than 40 countries around the world. He has been to Antarctica twice, shot fashion runway shows in New York City, shot a massive international show in Switzerland several times, shot the Brier and World Hockey Championships, been less than 5 meters from a huge polar bear in Norway, and shot the only fashion editorial ever done after dark in Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.
Brent is Atlantic Canada's first photographer to be published in British Vogue and in 2014, was recognized as a Master Photographer by Master Photographers International, and I received two International Photography Awards (IPA) for Fashion Photography. In 2015, I received seven IPA awards in Portraiture (4), Wedding Photography (1), and Children's Portraiture (2). He was named the PPOC (Atlantic) "Portrait Photographer of the Year" for 2017. He also was awarded 'Best Portrait', 'Best Wedding Photograph' and 'Best Children's Portrait' for the same year. Brent has been the official photographer of Atlantic Fashion Week for 11 years, and was the photo editor of LINE Magazine during it's entire run.
